Sixer APK · latest version, signed build, install steps

The Sixer APK is the same signed build published on the Play Store, distributed directly by the operator for readers who cannot install from the store. The desk reads the install path and safety recommendations.

What the APK is

An APK is the Android application package format — the file the Play Store installs when you tap install. The operator publishes the same signed APK on its own download page so readers who cannot access the Play Store can still install the app.

The signed APK is verified against the operator's published certificate fingerprint. If the certificate does not match, the install fails. The desk recommends comparing the certificate SHA-256 hash printed on the operator's download page with the hash your device reports during install.

Supported Android versions

The APK targets Android 9 (API level 28) and above. The desk does not recommend installing on Android 7 or 8 because the live points feed refresh cadence drops significantly on older devices.

If your phone is on Android 6 or below, the operator publishes a legacy APK build for emergency use only. The legacy build does not include the most recent KYC update.

Install steps

  1. Visit the operator's download URL on your Android phone browser.
  2. Tap the APK download link. Accept the download prompt.
  3. Open Settings → Apps → Special access → Install unknown apps and grant permission to your browser.
  4. Tap the downloaded APK file. Verify the certificate SHA-256 hash matches the operator's published hash.
  5. Tap Install. Wait for the install to complete.
  6. Open the app. Accept the permissions prompt and verify your mobile number with OTP.

Sideload safety

The desk recommends three safety steps for every APK install.

  • Download only from the operator's official URL — never from a third-party mirror.
  • Compare the certificate SHA-256 hash with the operator's published hash before installing.
  • Turn on Play Protect sideload verification in the Play Store settings.

Updates for sideloaded installs

Sideloaded APKs are not auto-updated. The desk recommends visiting the operator's download page once a month to check for a newer APK. The operator increments the versionCode on every release; if the page shows a higher versionCode than the one installed, download and install the newer APK.

If you switch from a sideloaded APK to the Play Store build, the Play Store will require you to uninstall the sideloaded build first. Uninstall the sideloaded build, then install from the Play Store. Your account data and wallet survive the uninstall because they live on the operator's server.

Reader questions

Sixer APK · FAQ

Is the APK safe to install?

Yes, when downloaded from the operator's official URL. The APK is signed with the same certificate as the Play Store build. Always verify the SHA-256 hash before installing.

Why does Android warn me about installing from an unknown source?

Android protects users from sideloaded apps by default. The warning appears because the browser is not an approved app installer. Grant the install-unknown-apps permission only to the browser you used to download the APK.

Will the APK auto-update?

No. Sideloaded APKs do not auto-update. Check the operator's download page monthly for a newer build.

Can I install the APK on multiple devices?

Yes. You can install the APK on as many of your own devices as you like, but only one session is active at a time.
